You Can Now Save Custom Columns Per Filter

save selected columns for filters

The one Pipedrive product update you’ve been waiting for.

Now you can define a different set of columns for each filter and save your settings.

(Applause and loud cheering).

For those who weren’t paying attention, let’s use an example: In your weekly sales meeting you want to review “Deals won last week” and “Deals lost last week.” For these two filters you may have different set of columns. For example, the “Lost reason” column is relevant only for the latter, while “Sign-up lead source” belongs only in the former.

Filter with saved columns

Save time in the reporting process – set up your filters

Before this rather superb update you’d have to do the following:

Remember that the filter you are choosing requires different columns.
Remember which columns you actually need with this filter.
Manually make the needed changes every time you switched the filter.

Now you don’t have to take any of those steps, freeing up valuable memory space in your already overworked brain.

All you have to do is assign a filter with a set of columns just once, save the data set and carry on selling.

All our users will have access to this update immediately, so go and check it out.

Wonderful!! Very glad to have this feature! This is a major friction-reducer to the already great list-views. Thanks for doing this!

    • Martin Henk

Thanks! We’re so glad you like it.

  • GREAT job!

    • Martin Henk

      THANKS! 🙂

  • Teet

This feature is great! Started using it already. I hope you will add scheduling with a mouse click as a nexst step.

    • Martin Henk

      Hi Teet,
Thanks! If you mean adding and editing the activity in the calendar in the new modal it’s definitely something we’re considering, yes.

  • Bart

This is great and really helpful! Can we somewhere see the product roadmap or even make suggestions?
My colleagues would love to have an option to toggle multiple pre-defined filters so they can filter results more quickly.
Personally, I would like a ‘detailed name’ field, to be able to specify first name, last name, salutation, etc. We now solve it with custom fields, but it does not automatically update the default name field. Many thanks!

    • Martin Henk

      Hi Bart,
We don’t have a public road map, but we do listen to suggestions.
Can you please elaborate on the pre-defined filters part? What would be the main difference compared to the filters we have now?
The detailed name request comes up every once in a while, so we’re familiar with this. Can’t really promise anything though as for most users the combined name field seems to be the best option.

I would like to see a Spouse Field

        • Martin Henk

          Hi Carolyn,
You can easily create a Spouse field using our custom fields. A person type field would work well for this.

      • Bart

        Hi Martin,

Thanks for this information! I can elaborate on the filters part: current we are able to save pre-defined filters in Pipedrive and use them again later on. We would like to be able to enable multiple filters at the same time, without having to create and save a new one.

Simplified example: we have separate filters for:
        – contacts from The Nederlands
        – contacts from Germany
        – contacts within Retail industry
        – contacts within FMCG industry
If we want to filter all people from The Netherlands working in Retail, it would be easy to just apply both filters without having to save a new filter. This prevents saving a filter for each combination.

Hope this is clear! Thanks for considering our wishes!

        • Martin Henk

          Hi Bart,
Oh, I get it now. It’s something we’ve been thinking about for a while. It’s not in the immediate plans at the moment, but definitely something to consider going forward.

  • Mike Ikotin

Hi – when is new Email features arriving.

    • Martin Henk

      Hi Mike,
      It’s coming this spring.

      • Scott Hansen

Are there any details to what Pipedrive will be releasing in regards to the new email features? Anxious for those improvements – thanks!

        • Martin Henk

          Hi Scott,
We’re with you on this. Looking forward to the new email functionality myself. I can’t give you anything more specific other than we’re very close now and it’s coming very soon.

          • Stuart Brameld

This has been talked about since mid-2014, and was originally scheduled for launch in October 2015. I’ve seen this tactic used by a few startups recently (get customers hooked by talking about upcoming features that are years away) and think it’s a real shame when companies are run in this way.

  • Bryan Ginter

Will Yesware function with in the new internal email system?

    • Martin Henk

      Hi Bryan,
You’d need to send the email from Gmail or any other Yesware enabled email client. The email would show up in Pipedrive either through sync or Smart BCC. But you couldn’t track emails with Yesware that are sent from within the Pipedrive interface.

  • Sid Anand

I know I speak to a lot of people regarding this, but is there a plan to have a feature so that when you are in the list view you can click on a filter button on that specific column and type in a word so that it only shows results that include that word? I am thinking of it like how the filters option in Microsoft Excel works. Not sure if this made sense to you at all. But this is definitely a pain point for my team.

    • Sid Anand

      Any update at all?

      • Martin Henk

        Hi Sid,
I understand what you mean, but this is currently not planned.
We will continue improving the list views though. So maybe some day it will get easier to quickly filter down the list this way, but I can’t really promise anything at the moment

        • Sid Anand

Thanks Martin for the note. Much appreciated. Hope to see this feature in the future.

  • Shannon Chesley

    Thank you!!!

  • Monny JcConnell

This option doesn’t show up on my edit filter window

    • Martin Henk

Sorry to hear that! There might be some issue with a feature flag on your account. Can you please contact support about this? I’m currently unable to locate you based on your name.
